The Pieter van den Hoogenband Swim Stadium hosted the 2022 Eindhoven Qualification Meet from the 8th to the 11th of March, with both Dutch and foreign swimmers aiming to qualify for various international championships this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition offered a chance to the swimmers to qualify for the World Championships in Budapest and the World Para Swimming Championships in Madeira. The young talents were able to qualify for the European Junior Championships in Otopeni-Bucharest and the European Youth Olympic Festival in Bratislava. For many Dutch swimmers this was the last opportunity to hit the minimum time standards and book a ticket for the summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two-time Olympic medalist Arno Kamminga made his presence in the swimming pool as well, dominating all three of his distances (50m, 100m & 200m breaststroke). The Dutch star recorded his 6th sub-59 second time this year in 100m br (4 out of 6 in Eindhoven), coming close to his season best 58.52<\/a> from February. His 50m result bumped him up to take over the #4 spot in the season\u2019s world rankings from Britain\u2019s Adam Peaty in the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team of InnoSportLab de Tongelreep was just as busy in the three-day-event as the athletes, recording all races with multiple cameras. After recording, the team analyzed and sent the footage to the Dutch National Swimming and Para Swimming Federation and their respected swimmers. With the help of the Lab, the top athletes receive feedback on their performance, which presents an opportunity to adjust their racing to the upcoming challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the qualification event, Mark Faber, national coach of KNZB announced the Dutch Swimming Team for the FINA World Championships in Budapest (Hungary) – headlining Arno Kamminga, and the team for the Universiade in Chengdu (China). Also, the delegation for the World Para Swimming Championships in Madeira (Portugal) was announced, including our own Jonne Kapteijns as the team\u2019s race analyst.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
