In collaboration with BrabantSport, Dutch Dolphin Swimming Club and local swimming clubs, the project was carried out at InnoSportLab de Tongelreep SwimFun<\/em> successfully completed. This innovative initiative aimed to bridge the gap between swimming lessons and club sports and to introduce children to various swimming sports in a playful way and was financially supported by the BrabantSport Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During SwimFun, children were introduced to water polo, diving and synchronized swimming in an accessible and enjoyable way. By using insights from motor learning behavior and motivational psychology, both the movement activity and the fun in swimming lessons were noticeably increased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 600 children participated at four locations. In Eindhoven, 24% of the participants moved on to a swimming club based on exit interviews. Furthermore, the lessons led to more fun and activity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A highlight of the project was the KidsExperience during the Eindhoven Qualification Meet 2024. Around 100 children from the region took part in water activities and talked to top swimmers \u2014 an unforgettable day for the children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the project has been completed, the KidsClubs at the various locations continue to operate independently. SwimFun thus remains an inspiring example of how children can remain active in the swimming pool in an accessible way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
