Racing is back! – Arno Kamminga leads the way in Eindhoven Swim Meet 2022

A three-day-competition took place in the Peter van den Hoogenband swim-stadium between the 17th and 19th of February. The Eindhoven Swim Meet was the kick off for the 2022 race calendar for many of the Dutch swimming elite, who joined the competition to test their form after the winter preparation period.

Leading the way, double Olympic silver medallist from Tokyo, Arno Kamminga finished the weekend with a clean sweep in all three of his categories. He was unstoppable in the 50, the 100 and the 200 breaststroke, finishing seconds before his opponents. He was especially happy with his 58.52 time in the final of 100br in his first competition since Tokyo in this category. As one of the only two men swimming the 100br under 58 seconds ever, Kamminga already has his eyes set on the World and European Championships coming up this summer in Budapest and Rome.

While the swimmers gave their all in the pool, the team of InnoSportLab de Tongelreep worked continuously on recording all races with multiple cameras. However, the job is not done yet, as all this footage is going to be analyzed by the scientists of the Lab and presented to the Royal Dutch Swimming Federation as part of a collaboration.

After an eventful weekend in Eindhoven last week, both the athletes and the team of InnoSportLab are headed to Amsterdam at the end of this week for another round of competition. The Amsterdam Swim Meet presents another great opportunity to the swimmers to reach their best forms, as well as for our team to record more video material to be analyzed for further improvements.
