Testing Day with the Paralympic Team at InnoSportLab de Tongelreep
Last Tuesday, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Paralympic Team to InnoSportLab de Tongelreep for a testing day. This day was part of their preparation for the Paralympic Games in Paris. It was a valuable opportunity to work with the athletes to improve their techniques and performances.
Testing Starts and Turns
During the testing day, we focused on the athletes' starts and turns. These elements are crucial in races and can make a significant difference. We conducted both isolated tests and tests under fatigue to get a complete picture of the athletes' performances in various conditions.
Isolated Tests
The isolated tests provide insight into the athletes' technique without the influence of fatigue. This helps us identify technical improvements that can be addressed without the pressure of a full race and allows us to have the athletes perform multiple executions.
Tests Under Fatigue
To simulate the reality of a competition, we also conducted tests under fatigue. This gives a picture of how the athletes perform when they have already exerted themselves. It is important to know how techniques hold up under pressure and fatigue.
What Happens Next?
After this testing day, we will begin analyzing all the collected data. Our scientists will carefully review the figures and reports. In a few weeks, the Paralympic Team will receive a report from us with detailed information about their performances, including strengths and areas for improvement.
With these insights, the athletes and their coaches can implement targeted adjustments and training. This process of continuous improvement is essential to perform optimally in Paris.
Looking Ahead to Paris
We are pleased to be part of these athletes' preparations for the Paralympic Games in Paris. Their dedication and perseverance are inspiring. At InnoSportLab de Tongelreep, we remain committed to supporting them with the best facilities and expertise we have to offer.
We wish the Paralympic Team much success in their further preparations and look forward to their performances in Paris. Follow ISLT, KNZB or Team NL for more updates on their preparations and achievements.
